Partner program for powersports dealers

An insurance partner for powersports dealers: motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, and golf carts

When a rider is ready to buy, you do not want the deal on hold while they figure out insurance. Kaufman Insurance Group gives your buyers a licensed agent who compares coverage from multiple companies for motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes, and golf carts, and sends proof of coverage once they buy a policy.

  • Street bikes, cruisers, touring bikes, and scooters
  • ATVs, UTVs, side-by-sides, and dirt bikes
  • Golf carts and street-legal low-speed vehicles

Personal & Commercial · Quick Quotes – Good Rates · Great Companies

As an independent agency, we compare motorcycle, ATV, UTV, and golf cart insurance from the companies we work with, so your customers are not limited to one company’s price or rules. Which companies can quote a customer depends on what they want to insure, where they live, and each company’s own rules.

What your customers need

What powersports buyers need insured

Street motorcycles need liability coverage to be ridden legally on public roads in Ohio and most other states. Off-road machines such as ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes may not require insurance by law, but a lender will almost always require physical damage coverage on a financed unit, and the owner can still be held responsible if someone is hurt.

Golf carts are a good example of a vehicle that falls through the cracks. Many owners assume their homeowners policy covers the cart. It may cover a cart used only on their own property, but it often does not cover the cart on community streets, at a campground, or on a golf course. A golf cart that has been made street legal, often called a low-speed vehicle, is usually treated more like a car and needs its own policy.

Riders also ask about custom parts and accessories, such as exhaust, seats, lights, and winches, and about riding gear like helmets and jackets. Many policies offer coverage for these extras, but the amounts vary by company. Riders who carry a passenger, trailer their machine, or ride in other states have questions too.

First-time riders

New riders need liability, collision, and comprehensive explained, and may not know how their license and experience affect price.

Financed units

The lender will require physical damage coverage with the lender listed as lienholder before the file is complete.

Golf cart and low-speed vehicle buyers

Coverage depends on where the cart is driven and whether it is registered for the road.

Riders adding accessories

Custom parts and riding gear may need coverage beyond the base policy.

How we help your customers

How Kaufman helps your riders

Your buyers get a licensed agent who knows the difference between a touring bike, a side-by-side, and a street-legal golf cart.

Quick quotes

We work to get your buyer a quote quickly so the sale stays on track. Timing depends on the rider, the machine, and each company’s process.

Multiple companies compared

We compare coverage from the companies we work with, so riders are not limited to a single company’s price or rules.

Proof of insurance handled

After the rider buys a policy, we send proof of coverage to your finance office with the lienholder listed.

Coverage that fits the machine

Street or trail, seasonal or year round, stock or customized. We match the policy to the way the rider actually uses the machine.

Common questions

Questions from powersports dealers

Does homeowners insurance cover a golf cart or ATV?

Sometimes, but usually only on the owner’s property and with limited liability. Once the machine is used on trails, community streets, or someone else’s land, a separate policy is often needed.

Is a street-legal golf cart insured like a car?

Usually. A low-speed vehicle that is registered and plated for the road generally needs liability coverage, much like a car. The exact rules depend on the state.

Can a rider insure custom parts and accessories?

Many companies offer coverage for custom parts and equipment, and some offer more for heavily customized machines. We explain what each company offers.

Should a motorcycle be insured all year?

Many owners keep coverage in place all year because theft, fire, and storm damage can happen in storage. Some companies price motorcycle coverage to reflect a seasonal riding pattern.

Will my staff need to explain insurance to customers?

No. Your team only needs to fill out the referral form or point the customer to your personal referral page. Unless someone on your staff holds an insurance license, questions about coverage, limits, and price should come to our licensed agents.

Is the partner program open outside Ohio?

Our partner program is open to businesses in Ohio now, with North Carolina coming soon and more states on the way. Options depend on the machine, where it is kept, and each company’s rules.
