Partner program for classic car businesses

An insurance partner for classic car dealers, restoration shops, and collector car sellers

People who buy or restore a classic car care a great deal about what happens if it is damaged. Kaufman Insurance Group helps your customers compare classic and collector car insurance from multiple companies, including agreed value options, so the car can be insured for an amount set up front instead of a depreciated guess.

  • Agreed value options for collector, antique, and vintage vehicles
  • Help for cars under restoration and cars just finished
  • Muscle cars, vintage trucks, hot rods, and modern collectibles

Personal & Commercial · Quick Quotes – Good Rates · Great Companies

As an independent agency, we compare classic and collector car insurance from the companies we work with, so your customers are not limited to one company’s price or rules. Which companies can quote a customer depends on what they want to insure, where they live, and each company’s own rules.

What your customers need

What classic car owners need insured

A standard auto policy usually pays actual cash value after a total loss. Actual cash value is the car’s market value minus depreciation, as the insurance company figures it, and for an older car that number can be far below what the owner paid or what a restoration cost. Classic car insurance often uses agreed value instead. Agreed value means the owner and the company settle on the car’s value when the policy starts, and that is the amount paid after a covered total loss, minus any deductible.

Classic car policies usually come with rules. Most companies expect the car to be kept in a locked garage or similar storage, driven for pleasure, club events, and shows rather than commuting, and owned by someone who has another vehicle for daily driving. Mileage limits are common. A buyer who does not know these rules can end up with the wrong policy.

Restoration projects add another layer. A car that is partly taken apart in a shop, a car being shipped to a buyer in another state, and a car whose value just rose after a finished restoration all need attention. When your customers have an agent who asks about these things, they are less likely to be surprised after a claim.

Collector car buyers

They want agreed value coverage in place before the car is trailered or driven home.

Owners with a car under restoration

Some companies offer coverage that can grow as work is completed, so the insured value keeps pace with the project.

Owners of newly finished builds

A completed restoration may call for new photos or an appraisal and an updated agreed value.

Where the program is open

Our partner program is open to businesses in Ohio now, with North Carolina coming soon and more states on the way.

We work to get a quote to your buyer quickly, often before the car leaves your shop. Timing depends on the car, its value, and each company’s review.

Common questions

Questions from classic car businesses

What is agreed value coverage?

Agreed value means the car’s value is set when the policy starts, and that amount is what the policy pays after a covered total loss, minus any deductible. It avoids an argument about depreciation after a loss.

Can a classic car be driven every day?

Most classic car policies are built for limited pleasure use, not commuting or errands. A car that is driven daily usually belongs on a standard auto policy. We help owners pick the right fit.

Do owners need an appraisal?

Some companies ask for photos or an appraisal to set the agreed value, especially for high-value or heavily modified cars. We tell the owner what their company needs.

Can a car be insured while it is being restored?

Some companies offer coverage for cars under restoration. Whether it fits depends on the car, the shop, and the company’s rules.

Does my shop’s insurance cover customer cars?

Your shop’s business policy is separate from the owner’s classic car policy, and the two work differently. We can talk with you about your shop’s own coverage too and tell you honestly what we can offer.

Will my staff need to explain insurance to customers?

No. Your team only needs to fill out the referral form or point the customer to your personal referral page. Unless someone on your staff holds an insurance license, questions about coverage, limits, and price should come to our licensed agents.
