For CPAs and business advisors
An insurance partner for CPAs, bookkeepers, and business advisors
Your clients ask you about more than taxes. When they start a business, sign a lease, buy a work truck, or win a contract that requires insurance, Kaufman Insurance Group gives them a licensed agent who compares business insurance from multiple companies and explains it in plain language.
- General liability, business owners policies, and commercial property
- Commercial auto for work vehicles and small fleets
- Personal home, auto, and umbrella coverage for business owners
Personal & Commercial · Quick Quotes – Good Rates · Great Companies
As an independent agency, we compare business insurance from the companies we work with, so your customers are not limited to one company’s price or rules. Which companies can quote a customer depends on what they want to insure, where they live, and each company’s own rules.
These logos show some of the insurance companies Kaufman Insurance Group may be able to quote as an independent agency. Showing a logo does not mean the company endorses us. Which companies can offer you coverage depends on the type of insurance, where you live, and each company’s own rules.
What your customers need
What your business clients need insured
You often see a client’s insurance needs before they do. A new business entity, a lease, a truck on the depreciation schedule, or a contract that asks for a certificate of insurance are all signs that coverage needs a look. A certificate of insurance is a one-page document showing that a business has insurance and listing its limits, and many customers and landlords require one before work starts.
Common starting points are general liability, which pays if the business is blamed for injuring someone or damaging property, and a business owners policy, or BOP, which packages property and liability coverage for many small businesses. Vehicles titled to the business usually need commercial auto insurance rather than a personal auto policy. Contractors and trades often need coverage for tools and equipment as well.
In Ohio, workers compensation is provided through the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation rather than private insurance companies, so we do not sell Ohio workers compensation. When a client has employees in other states, we can help with workers compensation there as it comes up. Growing owners may also want to review their personal home, auto, and umbrella coverage, since more assets can mean more to protect.

How we help your customers
How Kaufman helps your clients
Your clients work with a licensed agent who asks what the business does, reads the contract or lease requirements, and explains the options.
Quick quotes
We work to quote clients quickly, especially when a contract or lease is waiting. Commercial quotes often need more review, so timing depends on the business and each company.
Multiple companies compared
We compare business insurance from the companies we work with instead of offering a single option.
Certificates handled
Once a client buys a policy, we send certificates of insurance to customers, landlords, or general contractors who ask for them.
Coverage that fits the business
General liability, business owners policies, commercial property, commercial auto, and contractor coverage, matched to what the business actually does.

Common questions
Questions from CPAs and business advisors
What business insurance does a new LLC need?
It depends on what the business does, whether it has employees, vehicles, or a location, and what its contracts and lease require. Many start with general liability or a business owners policy. We ask questions and explain the options.
Do you sell Ohio workers compensation?
No. Ohio workers compensation is provided through the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, not private insurance companies. For employees in other states, we can help with workers compensation as it comes up.
What is a business owners policy?
A business owners policy, or BOP, combines property coverage and general liability in one package for many small businesses. Some companies add business income coverage, which helps replace lost income after a covered loss.
Can a client use a personal auto policy for a business vehicle?
Usually not when the vehicle is titled to the business or used heavily for work. Commercial auto insurance is designed for those vehicles.
How do you handle our clients’ information?
We use a client’s information to quote and service their insurance, as described in our privacy policy. Please share a client’s details only after they agree to hear from us.
Is the partner program open outside Ohio?
Our partner program is open to businesses in Ohio now, with North Carolina coming soon and more states on the way. Options depend on the business, its location, and each company’s rules.
